Safety Supervisor
Job Description
Safety Supervisor is responsible for monitoring workplace activities and identifying opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Conducts employee training on applicable safety standards, performs safety inspections and audits to assess employee compliance with safety regulations.
Reviews safety training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates.
Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines.
Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety.
Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to access risk.
Monitor compliance to policies by inspecting employees and operations.
Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions.
Collaborate with management to develop an Emergency Action Plan and serve as primary contact for project site injury and incident notification, investigation, and case management.
Maintain a written log of safety inspection activities, reports, and correspondence.
Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle workers compensation claims.
Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures.
Report on health and safety awareness, issues, and statistics.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or related field required
Minimum of 5 years of related experience
Extensive knowledge of company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards
OSHA 30 Certification required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to conduct training
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word
Ability to travel throughout facility to conduct safety inspections
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on computer
Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times

JOB TYPE
This is a full-time, in-person position. Typical work hours are between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm Monday - Friday; however, work may be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs.
